Dr. "Jay" Holthus
As a life-long resident of the Susquehanna Valley, Dr. Jay Holthus is fortunate to have the ability to work in a profession that he greatly enjoys and to serve the community in which he was raised. He resides in Lewisburg with his wife, Jennifer, and two children-Vaughn and Livia.
Following the completion of his undergraduate degree at Juniata College, he began his professional training at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. While in attendance, he served as president of the Pediatric Dental Honor Society and was the recipient of the Edward B. and Arnold R. Cook Award in Dentistry as well as the American Society of Dentistry Award for Children. He completed a two year pediatric dental residency at St. Christopher's for Children where in 2003 he and his colleagues received the Philadelphia County Dental Society Research Award.
In August of 2003, he returned home to central Pennsylvania to serve as director of Pediatric Dentistry at the ACTION Health Dental Clinic in Sunbury. He was pleased to have the opportunity to provide non-profit pediatric dental care for the children of the five surrounding counties prompting AHEC to recognize him as a 2004 Dental Hero of the Year.
It has been his dream to establish his own practice in Lewisburg-and he is proud to have built a practice that is custom designed for the unique needs and personalities of children. Not only does he focus on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental diseases, but he also strives to remain current on the latest advances in children's dentistry.
He welcomes children from birth to the age of 13 years, the behaviorally challenged, the medically complex and all special needs patients. From the office design, to communication style, his main concern is what is best for your child.
